Counseling for Organizations

The Challenge: An organization seeking to grow and develop usually enlists consultants in several fields. Yet, in the main creative process of developing a vision, goals, and projects that stem from the dreams, ideas, and strengths of the people behind the organization, and translating these potentials into practical terms, what is needed is a focused, centralized strategic effort. The organization wishing to succeed in this central enterprise must forego multiple perspectives and division into sub-specializations, seeking instead harmonization between its various parts.

Based on a broad philosophical-strategic perspective, Philoharmony supports organizations in the creation of an optimal vision and in the derivation of workable means toward strategic realization. Philoharmony does this by applying a profound philosophical approach that is attuned to the human spirit, focusing on man's powers and potential spiritual spaces, while retaining an incisive and broad-minded awareness of the need for implementation in a specific context and environment.

The Process: Philoharmony works with the leader of the organization, the executive level, and the relevant departments, in a dialogic process that extracts the organization's preliminary assumptions, helping to reformulate its vision, its goals, and the processes that support these goals. Philoharmony considers the conceptual and the human dimensions, the interpersonal relations, the processes, and the products, utilizing the skills, experience, and philosophical and managerial tools of its consultants.

The Stages of the Counseling Process:
1. Discovery: Challenging and exploring in depth the worldview embedded in the preliminary assumptions that are behind the project or the organization. At this stage Philoharmony works with the organization's senior executive level and its visionaries, usually in individual sessions and sometimes in groups. The aim of this stage is to extract, in a dialogic process, the limits, inhibitions, and strengths of the personal worldviews held by the organization's members.
2. Enhancement: Extracting and reformulating the organization's worldview in a clearer, more mature perspective and with reference to the organizational environment; deriving an authentic, up-to-date, and broad vision on the basis of earlier explorations. At this stage clarification sessions are held individually and in groups, in which the emergent worldview is reflected to the members of the organization and possible alternatives are indicated and discussed. The aim of this "brainstorming" stage is to push the organization's vision and goals to the limits of possibility.
3. Realization: Joint articulation of a written program for the vision's realization, beginning with the abstract principles and down to the details of implementation; accompanying the project or organization in the application of this program, while considering the insights gained from the entire process. At this stage, the need for realization and derivation of workable projects for the foreseeable future is the basis for the "translation" of the vision into practical terms.

The Product: The comprehension of the practical context, combined with an in-depth, unflinching analysis of the worldview available to the individual and the organization, leads to fundamental results:

1. A broad, self-renewing worldview held by the leaders of the organization and formulated in written summaries;

2. New basic documents, including: a statement of the organization's vision, its long-term goals, short-term objectives, methods of realization, codes of behavior, and procedures for future renewal;

3. New procedures derived from the counseling experience and guaranteeing constant renewal: formulating the ways in which, at each phase in the organization's life, the stages of discovery, recreation, and realization can be activated, in a cyclical process.

The Team: Philoharmony's leading team combines years of engagement with theoretical and applied philosophy, experience in long-term accompaniment of business organizations and NGO's, and experience in focused processes of counseling and training for leaders, executives, and entrepreneurs.
